Aspara offers state-of-the-art facilities, plus exotic face and body treatments – for both men and women.
The spa is attached to the well known Royal York and Faulkner Hotel on Sidmouth’s seafront, also home to the stylish and popular Blinis Café-Bar.
Aspara is contemporary in design, with a stunning interior featuring Italian natural stone, treatment and changing rooms furnished in American black walnut, glass screens and subtle lighting. It’s a great place in which to unwind.
The centrepiece of the spa is a mosaic-tiled hydrotherapy pool. The seated end offers two types of jet: Water for deep, localised massage and air for a gentler, soft tissue massage. The swim jets in the deeper end of the pool allow bathers to exercise safely against the current of warm water. The gleaming steel water cannon above the pool produces a strong hydrant of water to ease tension in the back, neck and shoulders. The overall result is a deep sense of well-being. The Hydra-Spa also has a sauna and a steam cabin, as well as loungers for relaxing.
To complete the pampering, Aspara offers a wide range of rejuvenating, holistic and spa treatments, using products from carefully selected brands. These include the French Phytomer range of facials and body wraps, derived from organic minerals, mud and seaweed. The luxurious Comfort Zone range from Italy has a deeply moisturising Hydramemory facial with extracts of honey and hibiscus – making it almost good enough to eat and perfect for replenishing skin dried by the elements and the effects of central heating.
Other treatments on offer include: Hot stones therapy; exfoliating, toning and moisturising body treatments; reflexology; thermal muscle and joint therapy; sports massage; waxing; Jessica manicures and pedicures.
